PeeWee Football and Cheer

Open Registration for 2018 Football.

Families,

We have worked hard this off-season making some changes that will make the game of football safer and hopefully more enjoyable for your player(s).  Below are some of the items we have been working on for this upcoming season.

  • A-String:  Your 12-13 year old player can play for KYSA and KMS!
  • CPR/First Aid:  Most of our coaches attended and were certified in CPR/First Aid this off-season.
  • Heads up Football:  KYSA is a Heads up Certified club.  All of our coaches will have to be level 1 Certified before they step foot on the field this year.  As the club’s Safety Representative I’ll have to attend an 8hr training seminar and then bring that info back to the coaches and you the parents.  For more info on Heads up Football go to www.usafootball.com; this program is endorsed and primarily funded by the NFL and NCAA.
  • Practices:  New this year we will try to have all teams practice at the same time on the same days.  We will stretch and warm-up as a club, then break in to specialty groups training for about 15 minutes and then the remaining practice your player will be with their team.
  • Coaches:  Head Coaches for this upcoming season will be announced soon, please check back.  If you are interested in coaching please email Nick at football@kingstonyouthsports.com.
    • Age Groups:  Age as of August 31st
      • A-String 12-13
      • B-String 10-11
      • C-String 8-9
      • D-String 6-7
      • Flag 4-6

Volunteers Needed:  We need volunteers to help staff the Crows Nest concession stand! The Crows Nest is a major contributor for the profits we make throughout the year to support our programs.  We ask that each team provide at least 2 people each week.  We will ensure that workers are scheduled accordingly so that you can watch and cheer on your child’s team/games. Additionally, we need volunteers in other areas as well, including:  Facilities Manager; Equipment Manager; Safety Coordinator.  If you have a desire to volunteer in another way, let us know!  You know what you’re best at, so if there’s a way that you’d be able to assist that we haven’t thought of yet, we’d love to hear from you.

Central Council:  The KPAPWA Central Council is the governing body that oversees our club and determines playing schedules, rules for competition and the like.  Their regular meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of each month from 8:00pm to 9:30pm at the Sheridan Parks & Recreation Center at 680 Lebo Blvd, Bremerton.  We encourage everyone to attend at least one meeting during the season to be involved with the decision makers. Below is information regarding concussion symptoms and ways to prevent them in order to keep the kids safe.  Also below is our Code of Conduct.  We expect that all spectators and participants will at all times exhibit good sportsmanship and follow the rules as set in the Code of Conduct.
